Aspiring Filmmaker

My name is Sally Cottrell and I’m currently a second year student at Massey university Wellington, studying Film and Television to follow my strong passion for visual storytelling. I have grown up with my parents who are both involved in the creative industry including theatre and film. I was taught by them and their colleagues to express myself through any creative form and seek what makes me happy. Being introduced to these skill sets at such a young age gave me a head start into deciding what I was really passionate about early on. Without these influences, I think I would still lead down this path as I love entertaining and bringing awareness to situations through video. This leads me on to the potential pathway I want to go down in film. Documentary has always been an interest for me. It allows me to share true stories with others and help inform people on certain situations. Making a change, inspiring, and creating great content is what I enjoy best.
